About petergloor

I live in Switzerland. In 1977 I started out with Ektachrome film, the 1988 shots were taken on Fujichrome Film with a Mamiya 645 camera, later on with a Nikormat for 35-mm format slide film . Today I use a Nikon 7000.

Westbound CN freight rolling along Jasper Lake (Athabasca River), east of Jasper tonwsite. This spot can be reached only on foot, a 50-minute hike on a closed roadway.

Fall weather is not always nice, and at this spot, the best time of the year is early summer, as only then can you, if you are lucky, get the light coming from the Northeast in the evening. Otherwise, you have the sun on the wrong side of the track - like me here!

The southbound passenger train running from Lab City down to Sept-Iles on a clear summer day. It consists of two Budd cars of which only one has a functioning engine, plus an interesting dome-coach of Wabash/Southern heritage. The ride is eight hours, but worth it.

ONR train 129, the Northland, at Cochrane. Engine (FP-7) and two cars will be continuing to Kapuskasing shortly.
One ONR coach and the baggage car stay here and will be picked up in the evening on the southbound run.
